i have a 2000 ford expedition and it has some problems ....when im driving the brake sometimes is pushed all the way in and sometimes when i push it its hard any help?????

i had a friend that had the code machine and it gave him c1234 code.

Are you describing two abnormal conditions or one abnormal and one normal? By "all the way in", if you mean the pedal goes to the floor, if the brake fluid level is okay there are no external leaks so suspect a failing master cylinder. If getting hard is abnormal, that suggests a problem with the power assist. That would be the same feeling you'd get after pressing the brake pedal multiple times with the engine off.

Does the vehicle have anti-lock brakes?
