right where the exhaust attaches to the manifold it looks like a large spring or coil just before the manifold do you know what it is called it about twice the size of the pipe

if it's item 7 in pic it's the egr vacuum regulator

no it's under the car just before where the exhaust attaches to the manifold .It's about 10 to 12 inches long about 3 or 4 inches in diameter it looks like a giant spring .Where could I get a picture of the exhaust under the car Thank You

at an auto parts it may be to hold the exhaust on. if what is in the pic what you are talking about is th e catalytic converter
