Code C1226 brake lamp indicator short circuit to ground

Pulled codes would kind of like a starting point or some guidance in the right direction so I am not looking in the wrong place or not putting a bunch of parts on this van.

Code indicates the low brake fluid warning light is indicating.

Let's start with checking the brake fluid and if that is ok then we could have a brake light switch or even a short in the wiring for the brakes lights.

This can be a shorted power wire to one of the lights or a light bulb has had a problem in the socket maybe. Please remove the brake light bulbs to inspect. Here is the brake light wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Yep you where right one of the light sockets melts and messed up the contacts so I replaced it and it works great!
