2000 Ford Contour 5 speed the gears don't engage

Hello,

If you are unable to engage in any gear, it could be due to clutch pressure plate or the clutch disk.
This could also happen due to disconnected shift linkage. Worn clutch pedal bushings can cause the same problem.

First check and make sure the shift linkage is secured. Verify the shift cable is in good condition and connected properly.

Unfortunately, there is no way to determine if the pressure plate or clutch disk is bad without removing the transmission.
