why does the engine start but stalls immediately?

After replacing the timing chain, timing chain cover, and water pump and refilling the radiator and changing the oil just for good measure the engine will turn over but will after the initial spike in RPMs will stall immediately afterward. Playing with the throttle body valve after starting before it stalls it sounds like the timing is fine and isnt misfiring or anything like that. I have checked all of the vacuum lines from the intake to the throttle body (to include the line that goes to the throttle body but also goes to the water pump then into the passenger side of the cab through the engine compartment)
