We were able to put the car in neutral and turn off the engine. We removed the dash panel covering the speedometer then moved the RPM needle out of the way. We could then place the van in Park. It is crazy that it was a mechanical problem with the RPM and transmission needles in the dash. Well that, caused by a problem with the RPM guage.

that is weird. cant say i've ever ran across such a problem. but the dash electronics on newer vehicles has become more and more involved with the cars control systems. nightmare really!
