Acceleration in any gear is suddenly very slow

My car does not accelerate at all, it is as if there is lack of petrol flowing, the car jerks n strains to accelerate and then suddenly it is normal. If feels as if the petrol is not flowing freely. Even when stationery, when i press the throttle full, it takes some time to get the full throttle going.

we have no info for this car, but scan for codes and check fuel pressure. then put a vacuum gauge on intake at idle if 15" or below then suspect a clogged converter.
