funny whistle when accelerating

I have a 2000 dodge 1500 5.2L V8, it has a funny whistle when accelerating, a rough idle, and it skips slightly under load.

I would be checking for a vacuum leak.

With these systems would is it also possible to have a problem with my plenum gasket, does seem to be burning a little too much oil.

it may, but check around the inlet manifold and all vacuum hoses first, use a length of soft hose as a stethoscope, you will hear a leak.
