How do I remove the rear differential gear?

remove the driveshaft, pinion flange, tires, drums, rear diff cover, center shaft for spiders, axles c clips, axles and the 2 caps in the diff for the carrier.

It depends on your wheel type. There are several car wheels as well as different fittings for the same.
