I have a 2000 Dakota 4x4, I was told that the brake system has been contaminated, what would a complete brake system replacement cost

The answer could be thousands. A lot depends on what has been done since the contamination. At the very least you're looking at a new master cylinder, calipers, wheel cylinders and all rubber hoses. If the fluid has been circulated throughout the system, you could be looking at an ABS control unit also.

Yes, I was told the abs control would need replaced also, what is the going price for all these repairs, ballpark fig.

It would take a lot of research on pricing but you could easily spend a couple thousand.
