Cut out all of the rusted section, slide on two fittings, make a double flare on each end of the steel lines, use a pre-manufactured line to stick in the middle and connect it with a pair of unions. The auto parts stores will have all the fittings and they may borrow a double flaring tool. You'll want to practice making double flares first on a piece of the old line.
