I have a 2000 chevy k2500 and have lost my brake lights. The one on the cab works but the left and Right ones by the tailgate do not. The turn signals are in working order and there are no blown fuses. There is a new stop lamp switch. The truck has 170,000 miles on it so I do not want to spend a lot of money to fix the problem,Any Ideas?

Check for power to the socket and the wiring at the tail light. IF there is power, the printed circuitboard on the light assembly may be bad. If there is no power, follow the power supply wire until you locate where power is lost. NOTE: Check plugs in the wiring harness for damage and corrosion.
