I have a 2000 Chevy Suburban that had the four wheel drive indicator light turn on. I replaced the front differential actuator and the dash warning light went out. However, the indicator light in the dash switch (i.e. Auto, 2WD, 4HI & 4LO) remained off. I replaced this switch, but the indicator light remains off and I do not believe that it is swicthing gears. What else do I need to do to fix this?

Check to see if there is power to the actuator on the transfer case. Check the wiring from there to confirm they are in good condition and not damaged. If there is power, remove the actuator and check it for operation.
