I have a 2000 chevy 1500 silverado and when I coast there is a noise under the back of the truck but when I gas it it stops

Sounds like a rear end problem. Too much play in the gears. Check the fliud and see what shaoe the gears are in

Have you checked u-joints and play at the transfer case output shaft and where the driveshaft goes into the differential?
