Busted the dip stick off at the transmission.how do I get the old one out.

Couple things you can try. If the stick is rather tight in the tube, and you can reach it, drill a hole in the center, then run in a self-tapping screw. You can attach a wire to the screw first or you may be able to grab it with a needle nose pliers.

If the stick feels kind of loose and won't hold still to drill in it, find a metal or wood stick for a handle and glue it to the dip stick with epoxy, then pull it out the next day. That works for broken-off keys in the ignition switch too. If you're going to have a really big blob of epoxy, put some paper around it before you stick it to the dip stick to prevent gluing it to the tube.

If neither of those tricks work you'll have to remove the transmission pan. Then you can push the dip stick up and out.
