2000 Chevrolet Silverado heat and AC

The blend knob has to be turned to hot for ac and turned to cold to get heat

I've never seen that before. Are you sure it isn't just the knob installed wrong?

Was anything done to the vehicle that triggered this problem?

Thanks for ur reply. When I got trk heater was disconnected. All I have done was istall new connector for hose and reconnect and thought was blend door actuator and replaced that.I dont know how the ac control panel work with actuator

I think there would have to be some kind of issue with wiring being switched around or just the wrong actuator.
