P0401

Had error code p 0401 then we replaced egr valve had code cleared then could days later check engine light came back on and its P 0401 again. What else could we do to fix the problem. Also there is also a small hole in my exhaust pipe could that have to do with the code?

Did you check to make sure you didnt have a clogged egr port before you replaced the valve?The hole in your exhaust has nothing to do with your code.
