Why is my 2000 Chevy Malibu engine sputtering after spending the night in rain? Thanks!

Engine will sputter and my check engine light will flash until car is warm

Sounds like the ignition system soaked up some moisture from the rain. I would recommend spraying the ignition system (wires and coil pack with wd-40 ) this will dry it out. If it continues to happen after rain replace the ignition wires with a good set.
