I have a 2000 model Chevrolet Lumina that is very hard to steer to the left steering is great to the right and works fine on the freeway but when you get in a tight corner or parking lot it takes all you have got or two people to turn the wheel. Do we need a new rack or is this a simple repair? Thanks for any help!

Check the PS fluid level, if OK then check pressure and return hose for leaks.

If OK, you may have a bad seal/leak in rack.

Also raise car, put on stands and turn wheel. If difficult to move then mechanical problem in steering, ball joint, tie rod etc.
