Cold start on a 2000 chev impala n blew a hole in the plastic valve cover! Would there be any internal damage if so what would it poss be

I am not sure if there is problem or internal damage but for sure the reason why you are experiencing cold start is because of the spark plug. Normally that is the usual reason for that very very typical issue. And as for the valve you can just replace it but be sure that it is a high quality plastic.

Okay, what caused the hole in the valve cover? Did it happen when you started it? Where is the hole.
