trans wont shift

2000 chevy express van full size 5.7 l engine runs great but trans wont shift out of first gear? no warning lights are on ,trans fluid has burnt smell , it wont shift on its own or manually at all . it will pull in first but not shift. it will pull in reverse .

may just be a bad solenoid. have trans shop diagnos.

it was shifting fine parked it and hour later it wouldnt shift .what solenoid might it be ?

i'm not a trans specialist, dont know if there are any on this forum? have not seen 1 yet. stop at a trans shop for diagnostic.
