Trans wont shift

2000 chevy express van full size 5.7 l engine runs great but trans wont shift out of first gear? No warning lights are on, trans fluid has burnt smell, it wont shift on its own or manually at all. It will pull in first but not shift. It will pull in reverse.

May just be a bad solenoid. Have trans shop diagnos.

It was shifting fine parked it and hour later it wouldnt shift. What solenoid might it be?

I'm not a trans specialist, dont know if there are any on this forum? Have not seen 1 yet. Stop at a trans shop for diagnostic.
