ignition problem

I have a 2000 camaro ss and when i started it and shut it off the starter continued to crank even without the key in the ignition. it did not stop until I disconnected the battery.

Two things ignition switch keep power to solenoid or solenoid plunger stuck

Would the engine keep cranking if the plunger was stuck, even with the ignition switch off.

yes that is why i listed it as a cause
