rack and pinion gears are gone

i was told i can take out drive shaft run it in 4wheel drive, i was told fluids would leak but i can put a cap in it is this true?

no, do not do this operation. loosing fluid will cause other failures and the front rear cannot take the stress.

get a bid for repairs to do it correctly.
