remove wiper blade from wiper arm

I need to remove the wiper blade assembly from the wiper arm on a 2000 Chev. Astrovan. Seems to be permanently attached I can't remove the blade assy. I'm about ready to take a hacksaw to it.

nope, just tight. there is a clip under the arm area where the blade attaches and it must be compressed to allow the blade to slide off. Patience is key here.If you look at the instructions for your new wipers, it will show you where the release is located. It is on the bottom
