How much should I expect to pay to replace the head gaskets on a 2000 Chev Astro van with a 4.3L V6 engine in Phoenix AZ?

It depends on what the shop charges for labor. I saw one estimate of around 1300 hundred dollars, parts and labor. I saw one time estimate of around 9 hours. If the shop charges a 100 dollars an hour for labor, just the labor will be around 1000 bucks. You need to call shops in your area and ask for an estimate, Call several.

Just wanted to add, if you do the work yourself, no labor charge, only parts.

when they take your heads off they will have to be sent to the machine shop to be checked.you may have to buy rebuilt heads if your heads have cracks.
