My automtic trasmission is not shifting from 1st and 2nd it is not smooth.

I had this prolem before with a 1989 GMC safari and I found a cable (steel) that activate shifting loose. do you think it could be the same. I don't even know if my 2000 Astro have the same cable.

could be the governor gear. it is plastic and tends to dish in the middle causing low pressure.

get a trans shop to verify for you and get a bid.
