2000 Cadillac Sts Recently Purchased 200 Sts After Changinging Filter Fluids

I recently purchased a 200 Cadillac STS, after changinging the filter, and fluids, it will not change out of second gear. What causes this car to act lik it do?

It is hard to say exactly what is wrong, but if it wasn't a problem before then I would ask if the correct transmission fluid was put in (if it was changed).
