2000 Cadillac El Dorado Car won't start

First, my car will not respond to my locking/unlocking remote.
Second, when I turn the key in the ignition, there is nothing happening.

Any and all help would be great.

check battery in remote then go to an auto parts and they can check if it works or not. but after you check battery or replace it and it still won't work. then reset your security system if it won't reset then have it scanned as there is something wrong with it.
