Yesterday my car started to smoke a little bit. I am also getting a slight grinding or scraping noise coming from the area where I believe the belt for my a/c is. My a/c is not working now. I am thinking that the belt is gone or my compressor is shot... Car runs fine when a/c is off. Help please. Also, does anyone know what kind of repair costs i am looking at?

It sounds like your compressor has failed but that still needs to be determined for sure. When a compressor fails like that, it contaminates much of the rest of the system so you need a qualified professional to determine the degree of damage. You will probably have to replace the compressor, condenser, accumulator and orifice tube. It's not going to be cheap.
