If its not leaking its has to be burning it.

Is there anyway I can correct this problem, the stick is dry in between oil changes.

You might try haveing the valve seals changed, it's about $100 for the seals but it's 10.5 hours labor whatever your labor rate is in the area.

If it were mine I would have a leak down test done before I done anything, that way you can make sure it's not your rings or badly worn cyl walls. But most likely to be worn valve guides & seals. P.S replacing valve stem seals will only help some.

If this is a northstar they are known for havingbad valve guides as well. The seals may be your best otion at this time depending on how much money you want to dump into it.
