Does it need to be extra deep to go with the extension to reach it?

The hold down. My car died at home and I had a meeting so had to take th other car and didn't get a chance to check the socket size needed or the length of the extension that I will need to take off the hold down plate for the battery. I lost my old socket set and extension when we moved so I need to buy a new socket and extension to change the battery. I couldn't remember if it needed to be the extra deep socket or if a standard socket depth would work.
