The heater in my buick heats but after a bit turns cold, is this heater core problems or thermostat problems and if I get it flushed will that resolve the issue

could be low level in coolant, bad thermostat, clogged heater core or a bad head gasket from overheating. flushing may or may not fix your car depending on the actual failure.
