What would cause a check engine light to come on and start flashing after changing the spark plugs?

changed the spark plugs on my 2000 Acura TL, aferwards it had a slight ticking noise that you could hear through the stereo, two day later, the check engine ligh came on and started flashing and now the car has a shudder.

You may possibly have a boot that is not seated on the spark plug correctly or a plug wire is damaged from pulling them off the old plugs. If you have a multi-meter you can test them for continuity.
You should, before you do anything else, get the trouble codes pulled to see what error code is making the Check light come on.
Any Advance Auto or Auto Zone will do this for free.
