need to know how to disconnect Wire Harness from the engine on a 1999 volvo v70xc

Trying to replace the Engine,but can't figure out how to remove the main wire harness to the computer box on the passenger side inner fender.I got the used motor from a salvage yard but that harness was just cut off instead of disconnected

There are a number of different types of connectors. Some have a tab that needs to be depressed to unlock the connectors. Others the tab needs to be lifted. Still others are bolted on.

You need the special tool to remove the engine and transmission control module. Tool looks like a BBQ thong. Best bet would be to order it from your local Volvo dealer through parts department. Hope this helps you out? If you need more info let us know?
