Coolant light volvo xc70

my volvo xc 70 1999 has a dashboard light illuminated. It is the coolant light. I have checked the coolant, added more, but the light comes back on. any thoughts?
i'm in NYC where it's cold as well

If the low coolant light is on, check the float inside the bottle and make sure it is floating up. If that is ok, under the bottle the low level sensor is underneath. Replace the sensor and you should be O.K.
