rough idle. ECM light on. cleaned throttle & changed coils 1st still rough idle. removed ECM. how can i test the ECM to verify that's the problem? i don't think it could be anything else at this point since everything else checks out fine. if i need new ECM & get it myself, will i have to have it programmed?

What code(s) is the ECM throwing? If you get a new/used ECM, it shouldn't have to be reprogrammed. Usually the ECM will tell you if it is toast by giving you a code.
