Engine Shaking

I have a 99 VW Passat and it shakes as I accelerate while going 40MPH at times, I wonder why?

Where do you feel the shaking? in the body, steering or engine?

I would say body, I know it is not the steering. So yes, mostly in the body and gas pedal.
