I have recently bought the golf and my breaks are going from being fine then soft when drive the car has been sitting for approx 6 month also needs brake discs will the pads and discs solve the problem of brakes going soft.
i have also been told that with car sitting for so long could be a case of just needing to be used and that could solve the problem do you agree? Any other ideas much appreciated as going for mot soon

A soft pedal may be air in the system so check for signs of fluid leaks and also have the master cyl checked as it may be bypassing fluid internally, this can often be felt if the pedal sinks slowly under light constant pedal pressure and is better under heavy pedal pressure.
