Whats wrong with my Bug??

I have a 99 vw beetle, sometimes my car starts and its fine, other times it won't even turn over. Sometimes my ABS and brake light come on while I'm driving, sometimes my oil and check engine light. Today while making a turn, the car locked up. I wasn't able to steer or accelerate. I was lucky to push it to a side street. I have been to 3 different mechanics, one of which was the VW dealer. Apparantly I'm crazy because the car never acts up for them. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!?!?

sounds like bad connections possibly at battery cables themselves.remove and clean and retighten or just try lossen and retighten.
