I have a 1999 Toyota Tercel which I enjoy driving because it is standard. However, the steering is power and it gets very stiff and hard to turn and backup at times. I was told that my power steering belt needs to be replace. Please tell me how to remove and replace a new power steering belt?

what engine? it may have an automatic tensioner replace that as well you release the tension with a rachet or socket driver or large bar then take belt off while tension is released.

See the diagram below for the P/S belt
