1999 Toyota Rav4 Transmission

Hi, my rav4 doesn't seem to be shifting up gears into 4th. At 80km (50mph) it stays at about 3300rpm instead of shifting up gears. This just started happening recently. I have changed the coolant and also reset the ECU (by removing battery cable for 30 mins) but this hasn't helped. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Check the fluid level and condition. You want it to be red in color and not have a burnt smell to it. Also have a shop scan it for both hard AND soft codes. If they tell you they can't pull codes because the Check Engine Light isn't lit, tell them soft codes don't set the light and if they can't pull soft codes they need better equipment.
