Engine Temperature

1999 TOYOTA CAMRY

The temperature gauge on my 99 Toyota Camry reads halfway between hot and cold when the car is running and parked, when I drive it, it goes almost all the way down to cold. Do I need a new thermostat ?

Yes, the thermostat is not closing.
