my toyota 4 runner is backfiring after I changed the plugs and wires?

It was running really bad...I had no power and it was burning gas fast! The check engine light came on and was reading a code for a misfire on 6. I had all the sparkplugs changed and the wires. Now it is even worse...the check engine light is blinking and it is backfiring!

I cant really drive it anywhere to have it scanned. I have a friend that seems to think I need a timing belt. But it the same friend that changed my plugs and now its worse!

Check the firing order if its correct

It's a good bet that something is messed up in the firing order or the installation of one of the coils.
