Since you have a ticking noise, I would suggest checking the control module first.
Excessive Time Lag Occurs When Lever Is Moved From "N" To "D"
Check control module, control valve, forward clutch, duty solenoid "A", forward clutch seal ring and front transmission case gasket.
Excessive Time Lag Occurs When Lever Is Moved From "N" To "R"
Check control valve, low and reverse clutch, reverse clutch, duty solenoid "A", forward seal ring and front transmission case gasket. Check for ATF deterioration.
Vehicle Will Not Move In Any Shift Range (Engine Revving Up)
Check filter, duty solenoid "A", control valve, drive pinion, ring gear, axle shaft, differential gear, oil pump, input shaft, output shaft, planetary gear, front transmission case gasket, and drive plate. Ensure ATF level is correct.
Vehicle Will Not Move In Any Shift Range (Engine Stall)
Check parking brake mechanism for no start concern or planetary gear for stalling concern.
Vehicle Will Not Move In "D", "3"Or "2" Range (Engine Revving Up)
Check forward clutch and one-way clutch (1-2).
Vehicle Will Not Move In "D", "3", "2" Or "1" Range (Engine Revving Up)
Check forward clutch.
Vehicle Will Not Move In "D", "3", "2" Or "1" Range (Engine Stalls)
Check reverse clutch.
