My outback impreza was making a whining noise when you pushed the clutch in. then it started making a noise that sounded like a pulley went bad but that wasn't it. this morning it made a loud noise and like something grinded on something and now I can drive it but the car has no take off power and looses power on inclines. It also has a bad miss while idoling now. None of this happened until after the noise this morning. I thought it was my throwout barring at first. It is a standard trans and when I have high RPMs it will take off.
