speedo problems

hi ive got a 1999 subaru impreza estate and my speedometer has stopped working .its is a 2.0l 16valve non turbo 125 bhp. the check engine light is on all the other gauges work.

When the CEL is indicating, an error has been detected. you need a scan to retrieve the trouble codes to understand what uis wrong.

Since the speedometer is not working, it most probably is a faulty Vehicle Seed Sensor and that would trigger the CEL as well.
