1999 Subaru Forester Times Running Starts Making Clicking Sound Will Stop Until

Some times when my 1999 forester is not running it starts making a clicking sound and will not stop until I go out and start it and turn it off again.

It may be an ignition short to earth, check the condition of ignition leads first.
