1999 Saturn Sw2 Lose Radio Presets Overnight Turn Ignition Off On First Fine

We lose the radio presets overnight if we turn the ignition off with the radio on. If we turn the radio off first its fine. Also we get the tick tick like
a dead battery sometimes. But with a meter the reading is 12+ volts

Sounds like a bad radio if it only does it with the radio on and turning the car off and it has to sit over night.Where is the ticking noise coming from?

The ticking happens when we try to start the car, but is intermitent.
