I have a 1999 Saturn s-series sedan with 1.9L DOHC. There is a part missing and I can't find the name of it for the life of me. It's part of the fuel rail and liquid fuel does pass through it. It's not part of the throttle body tho. The car will run and drive, but it will dump a lot of fuel out of the port where the moving part is. Please, help.

This second picture has the throttle body (the big circle in the middle right). The pressure release valve is to the bottom left of the throttle body. The part that is missing is in between those two things.

So are you talking about right behind the nipple where the fuel line goes on the fuel rail?If so thats part of the fuel rail and you will have to find a new or used fuel rail to fix it.

No, the fuel inlet is still there. I've tried and tried to find a diagram the has that part on it, but I can't seem to find one. All I keep finding is a diagram for a purge solenoid or a vapor canister solenoid. I'm just hoping to find out what the part is so I can get a new one.

I see your missing your intake brace that goes from the intake manifold to the engine block that your fuel line mounts to.Also looks like your canister purge solenoid is no longer mounted to your engine block.I have the exact same car as you same tear and everything.I just went and looked at it to see if i could see what you were talking.I couldnt see what your talking about the only thing that carries fuel in that area is the fuel line and fuel rail. Are you sure its fuel leaking and not coolant?

The first picture, I am pointing at the pressure release valve/ fuel inlet. The second, I'm pointing at the hole where missing part would be. The third is some sort of wiring that is now dangling. It might have a vacuum line, but the hose says flammable on it.

I only see one pic in this post and your pointing to the place where you check the fuel pressure with a gauge.

Is there any way you can show me a picture of the intake brace and the canister purge solenoid? Or what that area on your car looks like? Maybe that can help me figure out what I'm looking for.

In the second picture it some sort of hole where something plugs in. I'm not air if that's where fuel is coming from. If that vacuum was missing, would it leak fuel somewhere?

Where the connector plugs in is where two hoses go the nipple with the barbed clip is where the hose goes that comes from charcoal canister. The other smooth nipple has a vaccuum line that comes from the throttle body. There should never be any fuel going to the canister purge solenoid.Did you just buy the car?

The thing that I'm holding in my hand has one hose and the clip on the side is an electric clip. It looks like it attached to something else. The part that I'm pointing in the second picture is a hole that has something that just plugs in. Could that be the vacuum that connects to the engine?

I don't know. I've checked all the fuel lines and gas tank. I faintly smell gas. My husband was the one who said fuel was leaking. I'm not sure what he was talking about when he posted that.

Your talking to the right person iam factory trained saturn tech i have worked for saturn for over 16yrs.There is only one fuel line that goes to the fuel rail.In the second pic whats in your hand is the canister purge solenoid. If there is fuel leaking from it or going to it that is not supposed to be happening. That is just used to turn vaccuum flow on and off to your charcoal canister.Completly sure about this in fact. So is there fuel leaking from what you now know is called the canister purge solenoid?

No. It's not from there. That solenoid is working and complete. It's just missing the bracket. All the pictures I put up there are it. I can't drive the car or else fuel will start leaking. Unless you can figure it out thru those picture, then I have no idea what to do. I simply can't afford to take the car to a garage.

So is the fuel leaking behind where the fuel line goes onto the fuel rail?Behind the throttle body area?If so only thing that can be leaking in that area is a injector or the fuel rail itself.

It's part of the fuel rail. Just after the first injectors from the driver's side, there is the electrical connector for the fuel rail. Just under that connector there an "L" shaped hose that comes out just under the throttle bottle whatever connects into that accessory hose is what is missing. One person said it might be some sort of test port for the fuel rail. It has never had any electrical connection to it, it was just some sort of plug there before. There is a bracket there where it used to just snap into place. Now I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Should I just replace the fuel rail or what?

There are four holes on the fuel rail the injectors to slid in and a nipple for the fuel line go on.Those are the only places for things to connect to the fuel rail.So i really dont know of anything else that attaches to the fuel rail.wish i could see what your talking about. The fuel rail is easy to pop off a few bolts the injector connectors and the fuel line.Pop it off and take a pic of what your talking about.

This is where I am stumped. The port on the left is where the fuel line goes. The one on the right is where the part is missing from.
